Vigilant neighbors reported suspect vehicle fleeing burglary in Wisconsin, man arrested

PLEASANT PRAIRIE, Wisconsin (WFRV) – Vigilant neighbors in a southeast Wisconsin neighborhood helped law enforcement track down and arrest a suspect who fled the scene of a burglary Wednesday evening.

according to Pleasant Prairie Police DepartmentOn the evening of October 30, police officers responded to a burglary in progress in the 100 block of 113th Street. An off-duty deputy with the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office reportedly witnessed the burglary and told officers the suspect fled the scene in a vehicle and headed north on Lake Shore Drive.

A short time later, some neighbors in the area reported that the suspect vehicle was indeed north on Lake Shore Drive and was missing a tire. Police teams later found the vehicle and detained the suspect without incident.

During the investigation, police learned that the suspect crashed his vehicle after fleeing the scene and was allegedly carrying “a large number of stolen goods.”

The suspect, 34, of Kenosha, was taken to the Kenosha County Jail on a warrant, along with charges of 1st Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Burglary, After Cancellation Activity (OWI Related), and Bail Evasion.

Officers thanked vigilant neighbors in a Facebook post. No other details were given.
