Editor’s note: This story has been updated to include information about the accused teen’s first court appearance Friday afternoon.

CASPER — A 17-year-old Casper girl made her first appearance in Casper Circuit Court on Friday to face a felony charge of stabbing another 17-year-old girl on Halloween night.

Gabriella Aultman appeared with her parents in the courtroom before Judge Kevin Taheri on a video screen at the Natrona County Regional Juvenile Detention Center.

Taheri told Aultman that he was charged with aggravated assault for allegedly stabbing another teenager and that the teenager read his victim’s initials.

He asked Aultman, who was charged as an adult, if he understood the charge against him.

“Yes, your honor,” he replied.

Aultman also told the judge that he was a senior at Roosevelt High School.

Natrona County Deputy District Attorney Joseph Cole asked the judge for $100,000 cash or surety bond.

“This was a deliberate act,” he said. “We believe he will be a danger to society if he is released on bail.”

When the judge asked Aultman what he wanted to say about his bond, Aultman replied, “I don’t know what that means.”

The judge announced the bond, and then the woman said she had nothing she wanted to say. Aultman also informed the court that he was on parole.

Aultman’s father said the bail amount would be concerning because it would prevent him from continuing counseling.

Judge Taheri agreed with Cole and set his bond at $100,000 cash or surety, telling Aultman that if he got out he would have no contact with the victim in the case and would remain in the custody of his family.

“Yes, your honor,” he replied.
