Daughter accused of fatally stabbing 72-year-old mother in Greater Cincinnati neighborhood

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (WKRC) – A Middletown woman has been accused of stabbing her 72-year-old mother multiple times.

Police were called to the scene on 14th Street just before 11:30 p.m. Wednesday night.

44-year-old Mekeshia Lattimore was arrested inside the house and is charged with murder.

Doris Williams and her son Marcus knew 72-year-old Minnie Lewis while she lived in the house on 14th Street.

They said Lewis was the kind of neighbor who showed kindness during difficult times.

“When my mother passed away, he was very generous. When my mother passed away, he brought things here for us to eat,” said Doris, a long-time neighbor. “That’s how beautiful it was.”

Doris has lived in this neighborhood for over 30 years.

He said it was surprising that such a violent incident occurred on his street.

He recalled several police cars, a fire truck and an ambulance appearing next door.

“I didn’t know exactly what was going on. I had seen her daughter before and she was standing outside right before it happened. I looked at her and she didn’t say anything so I went inside the house,” Doris said.

She said her daughter went to school with the suspect.

Lewis also has a son, but the family declined to comment.

“We’re really going to miss him. It really hurt my heart to know he had to die that way. I’m not going to get used to (not) seeing him come in and out of the house,” Doris said.

Lattimore was in the Middletown City Jail.

Police did not share a possible motive for the stabbing.
