Postman charged with ‘senseless’ murder of lawn care worker in Lithia: HCSO

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A mailman has been charged with murder in a fatal stabbing in Lithia last week.

60-year-old Mark Calloway was identified as a postal worker stabbed lawn care worker on Oct. 22 over a parking dispute.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, the men were involved in an argument that turned physical. Calloway was accused of stabbing 29-year-old Jacob Whitaker, who was later found dead in the road.

“I cannot imagine the pain this senseless loss has caused the victim’s family and loved ones. “I sincerely hope that this arrest provides them with peace of mind and closure as they continue to suffer,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “We will not tolerate this type of senseless violence in our society.”

Calloway was charged with second-degree murder with a gun.
