Midland Man Sentenced to 300 Years in Prison for Harming a Child

A Midland, Texas, man was recently sentenced to three separate life sentences after being found guilty of, among other things, two counts of sexual assault on a child.

Jackie Nolan KocksThe 58-year-old received a verdict from the jury finding him guilty at his trial at the end of October. guilty two children were charged with Aggravated Sexual Assault and one child was charged with Indecency by Exposure.

The jury only had to deliberate for three hours before returning a guilty verdict. Kocks actually requested that his sentence be determined by the presiding judge, Judge Jeffrey Robnett, who gave him three life sentences to be served consecutively. Midland-Correspondent Telegraph.

Kocks had sexual intercourse with a girl under the age of 14 in 2018, and then with the same girl in 2019. He also faced the same kid in 2019. Kocks was approximately 52 years old at the time.

Midland Reporter He also noted that Kocks had previously been convicted of a child sex crime in a separate county in 1986. This meant that he was already registered as a sex offender in the State of Texas; therefore, conviction for other sexual offenses involving children carried an automatic life sentence.

He was sentenced to life imprisonment for the third charge, indecent exposure. Judge Robnettand Kocks had two past felony DWI charges.

Kocks will serve at least 30 years in prison before being eligible for parole.
