Two Memphis fugitives arrested in Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Two fugitives from Memphis were arrested in Nashville Friday night, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department.

“After several hours of surveillance, detectives were able to confirm information from the Memphis Police Department that the men were here,” MNPD said.

Police said 23-year-old Kaimon Carwell and 20-year-old Marvin Roper were traveling to a “short-term rental” property on Fitzgerald Drive in the Donelson area.

When police went to hire Carwell, he surrendered following orders from MNPD. Police said Roper was found hiding in the attic.

Carwell and Roper were wanted in Memphis on multiple charges. These expenses include:

Carwell: Attempted 1st degree murder, possession of a weapon with intent to commit a felony, reckless endangerment, aggravated assault, aggravated burglary, burglary and felony drug possession.

Roper: evading arrest, possession of a prohibited weapon, felony theft, vehicle theft, weapon theft, careless driving, reckless endangerment, vandalism, theft, intent to escape with risk of death, and extortion.
