Simpsonville man sentenced to 25 years in prison for child sex crimes

GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – A Simpsonville man was sentenced to 25 years in prison for sexually assaulting a child and possessing sexually explicit images and videos of children.

Andrew Scott Walker pleaded guilty to one count of sexual battery of a minor and one count of sexual conduct with a minor, according to the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office.

In January 2021, the Simpsonville Police Department responded to a call from a citizen who claimed he found nude images of children on the phone of a man he knew.

Officers seized Walker’s cell phone and discovered more photos and videos of Walker sexually assaulting one of the children. Her voice and children were identified.

Walker was sentenced to 10 years in prison for a misdemeanor sexual assault charge and 15 years in prison for a misdemeanor sexual intercourse charge.

He must register as a sex offender upon release, consented to a forfeiture order, and a permanent restraining order was signed for the victims
