15-year-old boy charged with murder of teenager in Solihull | UK News

A 15-year-old boy has been charged with murdering a 17-year-old boy in Solihull.

The 17-year-old died following a stabbing in Marston Green on Tuesday.

A lawsuit was also filed against a 15-year-old young man, whose name cannot be given for legal reasons, for possession of a knife.

West Midlands Police said in a statement that the man will appear in court in Birmingham on Monday.

Detective Inspector Michelle Cordell said: “Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of the 17-year-old boy who died on Tuesday.”

“We are working around the clock to determine what happened and why.

“This is a significant development in our investigation and I would like to thank those who have already come forward.

“I am still appealing for anyone with information to get in touch.”

Officers were called to Station Road in Marston Green at around 6.20pm on Tuesday.

The force added that there was an increased police presence in the area this weekend to reassure the local community.
