The PCP condemned what it called “fabricated” charges against these individuals and called for their withdrawal.

Presenting the demands at a press conference at Jatiya Press Club in Dhaka, PCP Deputy Chairman Kunentu Chakma emphasized that there has been no progress in the CHT since August.

PCP’s demands include the repeal of the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ 11-article directive from 2015.

They also demanded the arrest of persons allegedly involved in recent killings of UPDF members and civilians.

The PCP specifically stated that three UPDF members died in Panchhari on 30 October and four in Khagrachari and Rangamati on 19 and 20 September.

The PCP sought compensation for families affected by these events, including victims of arson attacks.

Additionally, Kunentu called on the government to ensure accountability for the alleged murders, kidnappings, enforced disappearances, and acts of terrorism in the CHT, which the PCP attributed to “fascist government rule.”

The PCP also demanded withdrawal of charges against students in connection with the beating death of teacher Sohel Rana by the mob at Khagrachari Technical School and College.

Their demands included the removal of military rule in the CHT and the initiation of steps towards a political solution to the problems of the region.
