A 21-year-old college student named Punith was killed after three men allegedly attacked him with a wooden log at a farmhouse near Bengaluru.

According to PTI, B.Com student Punith had gone to the farmhouse in Chikkenahalli along with seven of her friends, including two women. Later that night, three men came to the farmhouse and started harassing Punith and her friends.

Three men reportedly filmed Punith’s female friends while they were in the pool. When Punith tried to stop them, they attacked her with a wooden log and hit her in the head. Punith was taken to hospital but died four days later due to his injuries. A friend of Punith was also slightly injured in the incident.

Police detected a case of murder and arrested three people involved.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a man named Deven Mehta claimed that a group of goons attacked him on a busy road in Bengaluru. He stated that the attackers damaged his vehicle and threatened both himself and a woman in the vehicle, and shared videos and photos of the incident.

“At 7pm, my car was attacked by hoodlums on the crowded streets of Bangalore, while the traffic police watched as they broke windows, threw stones and threatened us in Kudlu, despite a woman in the car,” he wrote.

Mehta also claimed that a traffic police officer was also present but did not intervene to stop the attack. In response, the Bengaluru City Police reached out to him on social media, asking him for details about his location and contact details, and assured him that they had alerted the officers concerned to take action.
