1 killed, 1 injured in 2 South Euclid attacks lasting less than 10 minutes per episode

SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio (WOIO) – A 31-year-old man was killed in two separate shootings in South Euclid on Sunday.

According to the South Euclid Police Department (SEPD), officers responded to the first shooting at 12:33 a.m. in the 4000 block of Okalona Road. Here, a 31-year-old man was hospitalized with a gunshot wound to the chest.

The 31-year-old Euclid man, later identified as Jermaine Taylor, died from his injuries.

University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center called his death a suspected homicide, according to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner.

SEPD responded to the second assault in the 3800 block of Salisbury Road at 12:42 p.m.

Officers found a man with at least one gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital in unknown condition, according to SEPD.

SEPD said they took one person from the scene for questioning.

There was more than 2.5 miles difference between the two shootings.
