Young suspect and bystander injured in shooting attack in Lemmon Valley, investigation continues

A teenage boy and a woman were injured in a shooting in Lemmon Valley Sunday night, according to the Reno Police Department.

Officers responded to reports of gunshots heard at 9455 Sky Vista Parkway shortly after 8 p.m.

Police arrived at the scene and found a boy with an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital by REMSA. A woman who had also been shot was found nearby after trying to take herself to the hospital. He was later transferred to the hospital by REMSA. Both victims are reported to be in stable condition.

The investigation revealed that the young suspect attempted to shoot a man but missed and accidentally hit the female bystander. The man then took his gun and shot the teenager, who was still armed.

Authorities confirmed that the teenager is the suspect in the shooting and that all parties involved are cooperating with the investigation. Police stated that there was no threat to the public.
