Anya Taylor-Joy, husband forced to hide in cupboard at friend’s UK mansion during burglary in 2023: report

It was revealed on Monday that actress Anya Taylor-Joy and her husband were forced to lock themselves in a cupboard in London in February 2023 after a group of masked burglars broke into a mansion where the two were staying.

Taylor-Joy, 28, and her husband, musician Malcolm McRae, 30, were at the home of another unnamed celebrity, who was not home at the time of the terrifying incident, along with McRae’s bandmate Kane Ritchotte. Sun reported.

The crooks attempted to break into both parties’ bedrooms after breaking a window to gain entry, but eventually escaped empty-handed, leaving the trio “shaken but unharmed,” according to the report.

Kirk Holdrick, 42, was later caught and charged with theft. He is currently being held in prison after pleading not guilty and is expected to stand trial next September.

Holdrick previously made headlines in 2022 during a brief courtship with Hannah Voyan, a former cast member of British reality television show Towie.

Another accomplice is still at large.

A reporting restriction on the burglary at Wood Green crown court in north London was finally lifted on November 3, The Sun reported.

The theft was reported to the Met Police. CCTV footage was analyzed and forensic checks were carried out at the facility.

Taylor-Joy first rose to fame after starring in 2020’s “The Queen’s Gambit.” stunned in the dystopian action thriller “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga.”
