Mother of Murdered Nairobi Journalist Says Killer Boyfriend Visited Her Home Twice: “Namjua”

Police in West Kahawa are investigating a homicide after the body of a 33-year-old woman was found. He was murdered in the house of his alleged lover.

Lilian Achieng Aluko was found dead with visible wounds on her face and a stab wound behind her right ear.

According to Citizen TV, Achieng’s mother, Jane Akinyi Aluko, explained what happened before her daughter’s death.

“The police called me and when I arrived they showed me a house with a blue door and said my daughter’s body was inside,” he said.

Akinyi also revealed that she knew her daughter’s boyfriend and alleged murderer, George Mutegi. He said he visited her twice, which meant he knew her well.

“The suspect he visited is George Mutegi, who has not yet been arrested. I saw him, he came to my house twice. “Someone I know,” he said.

He explained that the murdered journalist left home to visit his friend, who was the prime suspect in the murder, but did not return home as expected.

“Around 11 o’clock he left home to visit his friend George Mutegi in Jua Kali. However, he did not return and a few minutes before 6pm on Friday, November 1, I received a call from an unknown number informing me of what had happened,” Akinyi added.

Family and friends mourn the loss of Kahawa West journalist

Achieng worked at a local radio station called Radio 44 in West Kahawa. One of her friends, Lilian Odingo, was mourning her death as a good girl who was also good at her job.

“He was presenting on Radio 44 and he was a very good presenter. “We lost a good girl, probably at the hands of someone she truly loved,” he said.

Brother Shadrack Aluko said getting a call about his sister’s death is something he doesn’t wish on anyone.

“Seeing the events of the past seems like a movie to you, but I never thought this could happen to my own sister,” she said.

Her sister, Diane Aluko, demanded that justice be served and those responsible for Lilian’s death be held accountable.

“I am heartbroken and devastated because her life was taken too soon. “We hope for justice for him and ask Kenyans to pray for the Aluko family because this is not an easy situation to handle,” he said.
