Two Ruai mechanics lynched for siphoning fuel

Two mechanics working at a garage in Nairobi’s Ruai district were attacked and killed over allegations they were siphoning fuel from vehicles at the facility in Nairobi’s Ruai.

Police said the two men were employees of the facility and were accused of siphoning fuel from cars parked there to sell on Monday afternoon.

This caused some workers there to raise the alarm, which led to the attack on the duo. They died at the scene.

The deceased’s parents reported that the two were beaten to death at the facility.

The police team arrived at the scene and found two dead bodies in the garage with multiple wounds caused by blunt objects.

The employees of the facility in question were identified as John Oduor Otieno and Emmanuel Oduor Martin.

Police reported that 2 suspects were detained regarding the incident. Police said these people were being questioned for murder.

Police said the suspects would be arrested and handed over to authorities for further processing.

Cases of mob lynchings are on the rise in the country, with police appealing to the public to avoid the same.

They want the suspects to be handed over to authorities for processing and possible prosecution.

In the past, such cases have seen some suspects arrested and charged with murder.

Mafia is a criminal offense under Kenyan law.

Elsewhere in Emuhaya, Vihiga District, the body of a man was found outside his house following a suspicious murder.

Police said the incident took place in Ebulinji village.

Police said the body was found with multiple cuts on its head.

Police officers visited the scene and found the body of an unidentified adult male lying in a cornfield with deep cuts to his head and bleeding profusely.

The body was taken to Rabuor Mission Hospital morgue for autopsy and identification.

No arrests have been made so far regarding the incident that took place on Monday.
