“Most of the crime occurred earlier in the day,” Van Zyl said.

He added that 12 house burglaries, 13 business burglaries, one armed robbery, three burglaries, five property damage cases and one rape case were reported in September.

October saw a much higher rate of reported crimes, with a total of 15 home burglaries, 18 business burglaries, eight armed robberies, 23 burglaries, nine property damage cases, two cases involving medical reports, two murders and one rape. case.

“Common theft remains very high, with most criminals targeting water pipes, door operators and lights. These can be sold very quickly at scrap metal dealers. Thefts are a major concern and continue to increase,” Van Zyl said.

It also noted an almost 50% increase in cases reported in October.
