CHATHAM — Chatham-Kent Health Alliance’s emergency room doctor has been charged with two more sex-related charges involving a minor.

Robert Nathanial Wismer was arrested Oct. 25 and charged with sexual assault and sexual interference with a minor, according to court documents.

The two new charges stem from alleged incidents involving a person under the age of 16 between Sept. 28 and 29, according to the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario website.

An announcement previously posted on the doctor’s profile on the CPSO website stated that Wismer was charged on Oct. 14 with sexual assault, sexual interference and invitation to sexual touching of individuals under the age of 16. The alleged crimes took place between August 29 and October 12.

Wismer was scheduled to appear in court on Monday, but following two new charges, he was given a Nov. 22 date. A publication ban is imposed on the publication of any evidence at the pre-trial stage in order to protect the identity of the complainants.

The hospital stated that after learning of the allegations against Wismer, he was no longer serving at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.

“The Chatham-Kent Alliance believes that the allegations are made by Dr. He understands that it has nothing to do with Wismer’s claim. In a statement, hospital officials stated that “there was no medical practice or duties at the hospital and no findings were made by any court.” “The hospital is looking into the matter.”

Wismer, from Thamesville, joined the hospital in 2019.

The university’s website stated that Wismer was released on October 25 with the following revised conditions:
