A woman was taken to a local hospital Monday afternoon following a stabbing near the MBTA in Forest Hills. Orange Line station in Jamaica Plain, according to police.

The department said Boston police officers responded to a report of a stabbing on the grass field across from the T station around 4:18 p.m. Upon notification, medical teams came to the scene and found that the woman had a stab wound on her body and took her to the hospital.

The adult female suffered non-life-threatening injuries, MBTA Transit Police Supt. Richard Sullivan confirmed. He clarified that the stabbing occurred not inside the station but along the outer limits of the southwest corridor.

Accordingly Boston GlobeThe woman’s injuries were initially believed to be life-threatening, and detectives from the Boston Police Department’s homicide unit were called to investigate.

Police had not made any arrests as of late Tuesday morning, according to Sullivan.

“At this early stage of the investigation it would be inappropriate for me to comment or speculate on the cause of the incident,” he said.
