Prosecutors said the charge is connected to a 2021 assault on J. Reuben that involved a detention officer. Authorities said Willets admitted during the trial to grabbing a chair and throwing it toward a desk area inside the cellblock.

The chair then hit the officer in the head, injuring him and causing him to be treated at the hospital.

The judge sentenced Willets to 15 years in prison after his defense.
