Man charged with street racing crimes in Anaheim

A man involved in a mugging incident that injured two people on the street anaheim He was charged according to police.

Hasan Hamid Ali, 20, torranceHe was charged with reckless driving causing injury, assault with a deadly weapon, failure to stop during a hit-and-run, all felonies resulting in injury or death, as well as a misdemeanor count of speeding. He also faces sentencing enhancements for causing great bodily injury.

According to authorities, the incident occurred around 2 a.m. on November 1 near State College Boulevard and Orangewood Boulevard.

A black Dodge Charger, later identified as Ali as the driver, crashed into two spectators. The two 19-year-old victims were found lying on the street next to the abandoned car.

Both teens were hospitalized with broken bones, lacerations and scrapes, authorities said.

An investigation revealed that two bystanders were struck when the charger went out of control. The two were reportedly briefly crushed and trapped underneath the Charger.

Videos of the incident spread on social media, and thanks to tips from the public, police were able to identify the driver as Ali.

Ali was arrested on Sunday and booked for hit-and-run and excessive speed.

The investigation continues.
