Medina Walmart arson suspect arrested in New York

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – Man accused of intentionally setting building on fire Walmart Supercenter He was arrested in Medina, New York State, on Monday, according to police.

Court records show Jeremiah Q. Banto, 26, of Providence, Rhode Island, was charged with aggravated arson and grand larceny.

The fire caused the Walmart on Pearl Road to temporarily close Monday afternoon.

Banto also stole a vehicle from a used car lot in Medina County on Nov. 4, police said.

He is currently being held in Chautauqua, New York, pending extradition to Medina County to face arson and vehicle theft charges, according to the release. Medina District Police Department.
