A beloved TV presenter died suddenly, aged 39, as his family spoke about their ‘unimaginable loss’.

It has been announced that KCAL-CBS TV channel news anchor Chauncy Glover has passed away, but the cause of death is still unknown.

The three-time Emmy Award-winning journalist left her career at ABC13 behind, moving to Los Angeles in September 2023 to join the station as its new host.

His family said in a statement: ‘We, Sherry and Robert Glover, along with Chauncy’s beloved family, are devastated by the unimaginable loss of our beloved Chauncy.

‘He was more than a son and brother; ‘He was a beacon of light in our lives and a true hero to his community.’

After earning a degree in journalism from Troy University in Alabama, his first television job was as a reporter in Columbus, Georgia.

He was most recently involved in a lawsuit alleging that Jeff Vaughn, a former KCAL anchor, was ‘let go because he was an old, white straight man.’

Vaughn, who was 58 when the ‘anti-white discrimination’ lawsuit was filed against KCAL, is represented by America First Legal, a conservative group that targets diversity, equity and inclusion programs. They claimed Mr Glover had ‘minimal experience’.

In 2014, he also spearheaded the Chauncey Glover Project, a year-long mentoring and college readiness program for Black and Hispanic young men.
