Two teenagers charged over alleged stabbing after ugly Halloween brawl in southern New South Wales

Two teenagers have been charged following an alleged stabbing and fight in Wollongong on Halloween.

Emergency services were called to a park on Burelli Street in Wollongong at around 10pm on Thursday, October 31, after New South Wales Police received reports of a stabbing.

A group of people were allegedly involved in a fight before a 16-year-old boy was stabbed multiple times.

The teenager was treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

While the scene of the stabbing was being examined, the investigation into the incident continues.

The following day, at 2.45pm on 1 November, a 16-year-old boy was arrested in Dapto and taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station where he was charged with wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

He was refused bail twice (Saturday 2 November and Tuesday 12 November) to appear before the Children’s Court.

Police then conducted further investigations and arrested a 17-year-old accused of fighting on Wednesday, November 6th.

The young man, who was refused bail, will appear before the Children’s Court on Wednesday, November 6.
