Why did Lord Lucan kill the nurse?

A major investigation took place in June 1975. Based on the evidence, it took the jury 31 minutes to convict Lucan of Sandra Rivett’s murder.

This included the discovery of the car Lucan was driving, which contained blood spatter that matched both his wife’s and Sandra’s blood type, as well as another pipe similar to the murder weapon.

The harrowing investigation also revealed that Richard’s target victim was his estranged wife Veronica, with whom he had a tense custody battle over their three children.

Greville Howard, a friend of Lord Lucan, revealed to the police that Lucan had mentioned that killing his wife would save him from bankruptcy because he could get his house back. He even went so far as to claim he could dump her body in the Solent.
