2 search warrants, 1 arrest and 3,000 in cash

OSHKOSH, Wisconsin (WBAY) – Oshkosh police seized more than $330,000 in U.S. currency, over 7½ pounds of marijuana, almost 2¼ pounds of cocaine and a thousand THC e-cigarette cartridges during a major drug bust Thursday.

Police, Deputy and Narcotics Unit and the SWAT team responded to the 1700 block of Lombard Ave. and Mt. He said he executed a search warrant in the 1000 block of Vernon St.

50 grams of marijuana, 30 grams of cocaine and $3,000 in U.S. currency at the Lombard address, Mt. At the Vernon address, they found a larger quantity of raw marijuana, cocaine, e-cigarette cartridges and $330,000 in US currency.

Detectives also discovered bank accounts that may contain several hundred thousand more dollars related to drug sales and distribution. Investigators seized three vehicles they believed were purchased with drug money.

A 51-year-old Oshkosh man was arrested on suspicion of maintaining a drug haven; possession with intent to deliver up to 10,000 grams of marijuana; possession with intent to distribute over 40 grams of cocaine; and possession of drug paraphernalia. He could not be identified.

Police are also referring the case to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for possible federal investigation.

The Lake Winnebago Area Metropolitan Enforcement Group is also assisting with the investigation. This includes sheriff’s offices and 10 police departments in Fond du Lac, Winnebago, Outagamie and Calumet counties, as well as the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation.
