Man crushed under trailer in Stoke-on-Trent dies – investigation

During the investigation, it was learned that a municipal employee died after being hit by a minibus driven by his colleague and running over the trailer he was pulling.

Craig Pointon, of Sneyd Green, Stoke-on-Trent, suffered fatal head injuries in the incident on Canal Lane, Longport, on May 30, 2022.

After an inquest on Monday and Tuesday, the jury found that the 50-year-old died as a result of a traffic accident.

Stoke-on-Trent City Council said Mr Pointon, who worked for the organization for almost 25 years, was a “very valued” colleague and described his death as a “tragic accident”.
