Manitoba news: Minnedosa sewage pump fails

Minnedosa residents are being asked to limit their sewer use after the town’s lift station pumps failed Tuesday night.

The cause of the malfunction is unknown, but the town, county and other municipalities are working to find alternative pumps, according to CAO Dannielle Carriere.

Meanwhile, sewage transportation companies are working to manage the wastewater at the lift station and will move the wastewater to a nearby lagoon until the lift station is operational.

A time frame for when the lift station will be operational is unknown.

Minnedosa residents are asked to reduce toilet flushing, laundry and bathing to assist while repairs continue.
