Tallahassee police investigating shootings at apartment complex

Officers arrived at the ReNew Tallahassee apartments on West Tharpe Street around 11:16 p.m., according to a TPD news release. There they found a man with non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to a local hospital for treatment.

“Preliminary investigation indicates that the shooting occurred in the parking lot of the complex, but at this time the circumstances leading up to the shooting are unclear,” TPD said. They added that the investigation is ongoing and updates will be provided when more information becomes available.

This incident marks the 55th serious armed attack in the capital and district this year. So far in 2024, 21 people have died and 44 people have been injured. According to a Tallahassee Democrat analysis of gun violence.
