What will happen to Vistara credit cards after Air India merger? Major changes announced

With Vistara’s merger with Air India coming into effect on November 12, 2024, Vistara credit card holders need to know how the changes will affect their benefits.

Here’s everything you need to know about the transition and what happens next. Vistara co-branded credit card holders.

Major changes for existing Vistara credit card holders

Available Vistara Credit card holders will continue to benefit from existing benefits until March 31, 2026. This includes the points and vouchers they earn, such as Single Upgrade Vouchers and Free Ticket Vouchers, which will be transferred to their Flying Returns account on November 12, 2024.

Flying spin points

After the merger, cardholders will start earning Flying Cashback Points instead of Flying Cashback Points. Club Vistara (CV) Points, It allows them to access Air India’s loyalty benefits.

Accumulated CV Points will be converted into Flying Return Points at a 1:1 ratio with validity extended by one year.

Level status

Cardholders’ existing Club Vistara status will remain valid for one year following the merger.

This ensures level-specific benefits like lounge access and priority passes continue for one year.

What will happen after March 2025?

  • Membership renewals for Vistara co-branded cards will stop after March 31, 2025. However, card holders will continue to benefit from the benefits until the end of the 12-month renewal period.
  • As of September 30, 2024, new Vistara credit cards will not be issued.

How will the merger benefit cardholders?

Expanded payment options

Cardholders will now have access to more than 20 airline partners through Star Alliance, compared to five airlines under Club Vistara.

Increased point validity

With the extension of points validity, cardholders will have more time to redeem their points for flights, upgrades and other rewards.
