16-Year-Old Girl From Puducherry Mumbai Was Raped By Auto Driver Then Attacked By 4 Technicians

News from Puducherry: A 16-year-old girl, who came to Puducherry from Mumbai with her family to celebrate Diwali at her relative’s house, was reportedly kidnapped and raped twice in three days by auto drivers and tourists. The issue came to light after it was found on Puducherry Coast Road on November 1.

On October 31, the police launched an investigation into the incident upon the family’s missing complaint.

According to the police, the girl, who was staying with her family at her relative’s house on October 30, left home at night. He reportedly took the decision on his own after discussing it with his family, New Indian Express reported.

While driving away from his house, he found a car driven by Khawaja Moinuddin of Kottakuppam and told him to take him on a trip around Puducherry. However, Moinuddin reportedly gave her alcohol and took her to his house and raped her in Kottakuppam.

He later dropped her near the Puducherry coastal road. But four tourists from Chennai again noticed her and befriended her, promising to help, and took her to their room and took turns raping her. They detained him for a day and then released him at the same spot, Times of India reported.

On November 1, police found him wandering along the coastal road and notified his family. She was later taken to a hospital, where doctors found signs of sexual assault. The girl later revealed the sexual assault while interacting with Child Welfare.

So far, police have arrested four persons, including an auto driver from Kotakuppam and three persons from Chennai. Police are also looking for another man from Chennai who is reportedly accused in the case. The arrested technicians were identified as Chitharanjan from Odisha and his colleagues Dinabandhu from Odisha, Ramesh from Telangana and Pankaj from Odisha.
