Woman’s Claim Dismissed in Delhi Child Trafficking Case

A court in Delhi recently rejected the second bail application of a woman accused in a child trafficking case.

A court in Delhi recently rejected the second bail application of a woman accused in a child trafficking case. The accused sought bail on the grounds that she was equal to another woman who was released on bail, but the court rejected her plea.

This case concerns the alleged abduction and sale of five babies by a group of defendants.

The case was registered based on the complaint filed by SP CBI Deputy J. Chandru on April 5, 2024, alleging illegal human trafficking activities involving buying and selling of babies in Delhi and other states. The complaint implicated many people, including Neeraj, Indu Pawar and Pooja Kashyap, among other suspects.

Special CBI Judge Gagandeep Singh rejected Pooja Kashyap’s second bail application, highlighting her role in the case.

The court stated: “The applicant’s involvement in the trafficking of Baby No. 1 is stated in detail in the indictment. He was identified by his biological parents, Sima Kumari and Akash, as one of the people who posed as his adoptive parents. “Therefore, the accused cannot claim equality with the other accused, Kavita,” he said.

The court ruled as follows: “Considering the facts and circumstances, there is no justification for the application for the defendant to be released on bail. “Accordingly, the second application filed on behalf of Pooja Kashyap for regular bail under Section 439 Cr.PC is rejected,” it said.

Additionally, the court noted that the prosecution has submitted call detail records (CDR) of Pooja Kashyap’s mobile number, which is stored in a 110-page DVD. These records reveal his location on April 4, 2024, at the time of the alleged trafficking incident and show that he remained in the vicinity of Delhi, Kerala, from 5:03 pm to approximately 9:33 pm, indicating that he was merely a trafficker. raises doubts. guard.

The prosecution also presented intercepted call records, which included a conversation in which the defendant discussed baby trafficking.

Allegedly, on April 5, 2024, the CBI arrested the accused Neeraj, Indu Pawar and Aslam during the attempted sale of a baby in Tri Nagar in Delhi. During the operation, authorities seized 1,000 TL. 5.1 lakh and saved the baby.

During subsequent CBI raids, another baby boy was found at Pooja Kashyap’s house in Tri Nagar, Kanhiya Nagar, Delhi. Additionally, a baby girl was also found along with her accomplice Kavita, on the instructions of another accused, Anjali alias Golu.

Another baby was taken from the hands of the accused Hari Singh, who was taken into custody in connection with the case. All four rescued babies were produced before the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) and have since been placed in a Child Welfare Institution as per the instructions of the CWC.

Further investigation revealed that Anjali and another suspect Neeraj sold a newborn boy to a couple in Patiala, Punjab on March 7, 2024. Neeraj allegedly forged notarized documents to falsely present the sale as a legitimate adoption.

For this adoption, the accused used forged documents showing Rahul Mehrolia and his wife Sushma as the biological parents of the child who was sold to the couple in Patiala. This baby was also rescued and is currently housed in a Child Welfare Institution as per CWC directives.
