One arrested, another in serious condition after Bradford County shooting

OVERTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WBNG) — Pennsylvania State Police say a suspect has been arrested and another person was injured following a shooting in Bradford County on Nov. 6.

State Police announced the arrest of 25-year-old Isaiah Covert of New Albany, Pennsylvania. He faces a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Troopers responded to 700 Morris Rd. Around 11 a.m. in Overton Township for the shooting.

State Police said the 75-year-old victim and Covert were involved in a dispute that escalated.

According to police, the victim fired two shots from his handgun and Covert fired multiple shots from his firearm in the road next to their home.

The victim suffered gunshot wounds to his abdomen and arm. The man, who was taken to Robert Packer Hospital, was stated to be in serious condition.

Covert was sent to the Bradford County Jail. Bail was refused.
