11 arrested on drug charges in Martinsville

The Martinsville Police Department announced the arrest of 11 suspects on drug-related charges Thursday.

“These indictments were a result of the Martinsville Police Department’s ongoing efforts to combat the distribution of illegal drugs and the harm they cause to our community,” MPD said in a statement. he wrote. “Each arrest was made possible because of the strong partnership developed between the community and the Martinsville Police Department.”

The following people were charged:

  • Stephanie Nicole Carter: Distribute Meth
  • Keith Allan Brim: Cocaine Manufacturing
  • Ricardo Neville Thawe: Distribute Meth (2 issues)
  • Nicholas Allen Clouser: Possessed of Meth
  • Misti Diane Williams: Possessed Meth with intent to distribute (3rd offense, 2 counts)
  • Jessica Lynn Beal: Distribute Schedule 1 medicine, Distribute Schedule 2 medicine
  • Danielle Renee Chappell: Possessed Fentanyl
  • Cory Roger Bragg: Possession with intent to distribute meth (2nd offense)
  • Buford Leander Preston: Possession of Cocaine, Possession of a Scheduled Drug with a Firearm, Possession of a Schedule I/II Drug, Felony Elude Police.
  • Deandra Steven Candy: Distribute Meth (2 counts), Distribute Heroin, Distribute Fentanyl, Possession of a Firearm while selling a Schedule I/II drug, Possession of a firearm by a violent felon.
  • Leanna Marie Walker: Distribute Meth (2 issues)

The arrests come after a Martinsville grand jury handed down 30 indictments on drug-related charges Monday.

The indictments accusing a total of 14 people were sealed until these suspects were arrested.

As of Thursday, 11 of 14 people had been arrested and 23 of 30 indictments had been withdrawn.
