Man found guilty on all counts in child molestation case | News

On Friday, a jury found Tysone Benavidez Usana guilty of harassing and raping a girl he had known for years.

Usana was 29 when a 16-year-old girl told police in 2019 that he had been touching her private parts since she was about 8 years old.

His case went to trial this week.

The girl testified that she was about 8 years old when it started, 12 or 13 when it stopped, and 16 when Usana was arrested and charged with multiple sex crimes.

Court documents state that as a teenager, the abuse occurred almost daily. As he got older, he started fighting with her and it happened less frequently, according to the documents.

Usana was charged in 2019 with two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, a first-degree felony, two counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct, a first-degree felony, and one misdemeanor count of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct.

The trial continued Friday with closing arguments in Guam Superior Court Judge Alberto E. Tolentino’s courtroom. The jury reached its verdict within a few hours.

Deputy Attorney General Christine Tenorio is the government prosecutor assigned to the case. Defense attorney Joseph Razzano is representing Usana.
