Why did the media wait until now to admit that Harris ran a terrible campaign?

Why did the media wait until now to admit that Harris ran a terrible campaign?

As I was following the finger pointing and accusations, something suddenly caught my attention. Kamala Harris We lost badly to Donald Trump.

Watching his 107-day campaign, much of the coverage was absolutely glowing as he was portrayed as an inspirational pioneer who would unite the country.

DEPRESSED MEDIA REACTION TO TRUMP’S VICTORY: HOW CAN THIS HAPPEN?

But about five minutes After Donald Trump When the president-elect was announced, a very different picture emerged.

Harris had run a terrible campaign, making all kinds of missteps and gaffes. He hadn’t done this, that, and the other thing. He wasn’t ready for this challenge. He couldn’t meet the moment.

Are they telling us now?

Doesn’t this show that journalists, commentators and analysts are following him? That they knew the vice president was floundering, failing, and failing, and they weren’t being honest about it?

Well, it brings to mind this.

For most of his term, President Biden is revived A capable chief executive, he may lack enthusiasm but is more than capable of getting things done, whether you like his policies or not.

Some of the age-related stories emerged earlier this year, but both White House officials and those who follow Biden told readers and viewers that in one sentence:

“sharp as a nail.”

‘GARBAGE’ CAMPAIGN: WHY MISTAKES AND DISTRACTIONS CAN AFFECT THE RESULTS

And then came the debate. Boom! The country has seen the president struggle to formulate coherent punishment against Trump, and he would soon be forced to withdraw from the race.

Many media figures at that point said unequivocally that they saw Biden’s mental acuity declining and yes it was hidden from them most of the time, but wasn’t that obvious? Several said White House officials told them as much as two years ago that there was no way Biden would run for re-election. But of course this was off the record.

In short, even if the president appeared confused or took the wrong turn, much of the press supported him.

And you wonder why the media’s credibility ratings are in the toilet.

Just like in the Biden case, in the Harris case, many journalists hid the harsh reality of their problems until it was no longer in their interest.

We take one big dose of this Because of the sniping between the Harris and Biden camps.

TRUMP CAMP CONFIDENT OVER EARLY VOTING, BLACK LEADERS SAY HARRIS IS PUSHED

According to Politico, “Democrats are directing their anger at Joe Biden for losing the presidential race, whom they accuse of dragging Kamala Harris into failure by not letting go sooner.”

“They say his advancing age, questions about his mental acuity, and deep unpopularity put Democrats at a huge disadvantage. They are angry that they were forced to accept a candidate that voters made clear they didn’t want, and then stayed in the race long after it became clear he couldn’t win.”

On the same site, columnist Jonathan Martin “Biden sympathizers want to pin the blame for his loss on her,” he says, “while Harris defenders believe she was undeniably at fault for creating the prohibitive political environment she has proven unable to overcome.”

“How can Harris defenders complain about being dragged down by Biden when he can’t find a single core policy issue that will break ties with the unpopular incumbent?”

Moreover, “where was the courage? Defensive policy, no attempt was made to give confidence that he would govern the country from the center and reject the extremists in both parties… If the other party attacks you as a liberal without a clear and concise explanation. The scale of the challenge he faces and yes, how much of the first internal poll Given that it’s bad, voters will believe the attacks, why not take some risks?”

There were some suggestions, including myself, that Harris was being too cautious and sticking to her talking points. I’ve discussed Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro since the day he passed away that Tim Walz he wouldn’t do anything for the ticket; Many experts now say this is a fact.

This post from mid-October is an exception to the wait-it-until-it approach at Axios:

“Many top Biden aides are wounded by the president being pushed out of his reelection bid and are still adjusting to a supporting role on the campaign trail… Some on the Harris team say: White House aides “We are not adequately coordinating Biden’s messaging and schedule to fit what is best for the vice president’s campaign.”

The media has a lot to answer for in the wake of this election, including how they underestimated Trump’s chances and attracted voters, and why they can’t understand why Harris’ party seems out of touch with so many working-class people.

But that’s where Harris comes in to paint a rosy scenario when things are actually dark — even if there’s nothing she can do to stop Trump’s juggernaut.
