Six people arrested for gang rape of college student in Odisha

Reports indicate that the victim, a second-year commerce student, was invited by her boyfriend to celebrate her birthday in Bhubaneswar’s Purighat area during the Dussehra holiday. After the celebration, her boyfriend forced her to have sexual intercourse in a cafe, and the cafe owner secretly filmed the act. The footage was then used to blackmail the victim.

The situation worsened when the cafe owner, in collusion with her boyfriend, arranged for the victim to be taken to a remote area of ​​Barang outside the city where four other men were waiting. The men allegedly took turns attacking him.

The victim reported the incident to the local Badambadi police after confiding in her parents. Authorities quickly raided the suspects’ homes on Thursday evening and arrested all six people. Police also seized the mobile phones used in the crime and seized obscene videos from the devices, which were sent to the State Forensic Science Laboratory for further analysis.
