Mumbai Police is investigating Chhattisgarh lawyer Faizan Khan in Shah Rukh Khan’s death threat case.

Following the recent death threat against actor Shah Rukh Khan, the investigation has drawn attention to a lawyer from Chhattisgarh named Faizan Khan. Mumbai Police summoned Faizan and revealed a previous connection between him and the actor, but the relationship was reportedly contentious.

Who is Faizan Khan?

Faizan Khan, also known as Mohammad Faizan Khan, is a lawyer resident in the jurisdiction of Pandri police station in Raipur. His connection to the case came to light when investigations revealed that the threatening message sent to Shah Rukh Khan had come from his phone, Senior Superintendent of Police Santosh Singh confirmed to PTI. As part of the investigation, Mumbai Police visited Raipur and summoned him for questioning.

Learning that the threatening call was made from a phone number registered in his name, Faizan filed a criminal complaint with the police, claiming that he had lost his phone the previous week. Police initially identified the man as Faiyaz Khan.

The latest threat against Shah Rukh Khan follows a series of threats against Bollywood actor Salman Khan, who was allegedly linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, for his suspected involvement in a poaching case in 1999.

Faizan Khan’s Previous Conflict With Shah Rukh

In talks with reporters in Raipur, Faizan claimed that his phone was stolen and described the threat call as a conspiracy against him. “On November 2, my phone was stolen and I filed a report. I told the Mumbai police about this. “They interrogated me for about two hours,” he said.

Faizan also revealed that he had previously filed a complaint against Shah Rukh Khan with the Mumbai police over a dialogue in the actor’s 1994 film Anjaam, which he felt negatively referenced deer hunting. He believes that the person who stole his phone may have been trying to frame him by linking his past complaint to current threats against Salman.

“I come from Rajasthan. The Bishnoi community (from Rajasthan) is my friend. Protecting deers is in their religion. So, it is condemnable for a Muslim to say such a thing about a deer. That’s why I objected,” he said. “Whoever called from my phone seems intentional. “I think there is a conspiracy against me.”

Death Threat to Shah Rukh Khan

Mumbai Police opened an extortion case and summoned Faizan Khan demanding ₹50 lakh as part of its investigation into the death threat made against Shah Rukh Khan.

“A call came to Bandra police station threatening Shah Rukh Khan and demanding 50 lakh rupees. A crime has been recorded. No arrests have been made yet,” said a senior Mumbai police official.

Bandra police registered a case under sections 308(4) (extortion involving threats of death or serious injury) and 351(3)(4) (criminal intimidation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) in connection with the threat against Shah. Rukh Khan.
