Police say the man appeared in court on burglary and sex crime charges after evading an arrest warrant for six months

A 22-year-old man who escaped six months after an active arrest warrant for felony burglary and multiple misdemeanor sex crimes was arrested and arraigned last week on charges that police allege he punched, urinated on and spat on. assaulted a woman and exposed himself in front of a minor.

Khalif Dwight Mumin, of no fixed abode or address, remains in the Montgomery County jail on $25,077 cash bail, which includes a parole violating inmate. Corruption of children, corruption of minors, attempted simple assault, indecent exposure, open indecency, harassment and trespassing, according to charging documents.

At 9:40 a.m. April 2, police responded to a report of a man fighting outside on North Third Street in the Montgomery County section of Telford County and walking away from the scene, later identified as Mumin.

According to the affidavit, the victim told police that Mumin entered her home while she was sleeping the night before, prepared something to eat, took a shower and then got into bed. Police said the victim did not report Mumin to the authorities because Mumin was so afraid of him that he surrendered because he was “frozen with fear.”

Police said the victim asked Mumin to leave when his friends arrived at 6 a.m. on April 2. The victim returned two hours later with a child, but Mumin was still in bed, naked and refused to leave, according to the affidavit. Authorities claimed that Mumin threatened to stab the victim when his friends arrived.

When a friend arrived, police allege Mumin became loud and argumentative, jumping out of bed naked in front of everyone present and continuing to threaten the victim.

Two witnesses outside the home were able to see through the picture window and allegedly saw Mumin punch the victim, urinate on him and then spit on him, authorities said.

At least two people offered to drive Mumin to Philadelphia, but authorities said he refused, got out of the car, ran outside threatening to “kill her,” then fled on foot and disappeared before police arrived.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 13 at 1:30 p.m. before Magisterial District Judge Adam T. Katzman, according to court documents.

All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
