US and UK launched two airstrikes on Yemen’s Hodeidah province – source – World

DUBAI, 8 November. /TASS/. A Houthi source told TASS that the US and the UK carried out two airstrikes on Al Hodeidah province in Yemen, which is controlled by the Ansarullah (Houthi) rebel movement.

“Today, American and British warplanes attacked infrastructure facilities in the south of Al Hodeidah province,” he said. “Local people reported two attacks near the al-Tuheita settlement.”

Following the escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict in the Gaza Strip, the Houthis warned that they would attack Israeli territory and ban ships affiliated with the Jewish state from passing through the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandeb Strait. Tel Aviv has halted its military operation against Palestinian radical group Hamas in the war-torn region. Dozens of civilian ships have been attacked by the Houthis in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden since mid-November.

In response to Ansar Allah’s actions, US officials announced the formation of an international coalition and preparations for an operation codenamed Prosperity Guardian, which was expected to ensure freedom of navigation and protection of ships in the Red Sea. Since then, the US and the UK have been carrying out regular attacks on Houthi targets in Yemen.
