Tanner Jeannot faces automatic suspension for hit on Brock Boeser

After his big hit on Boeser, Jeannot’s fate will be determined by the NHL’s Department of Player Safety.

Oft-injured Vancouver Canucks forward Brock Boeser will unfortunately be dealing with other major ailments of his young career after being tackled by the Los Angeles Kings’ Tanner Jeannot on Thursday night.

The poor Canuck was blasted with a clear open ice header to Jeannot, earning Jeannot a 5-minute major and game misconduct penalty.

Boeser left the ice with the help of coaches and never returned to competition. One Jeannot was removed from the game; His shot was certain to be reviewed by the NHL Department of Player Safety.

When players receive a match penalty, the NHL’s Department of Player Safety automatically investigates the incident. Therefore, it will be announced later today whether Jeannot will be suspended or fined for what he did to Boeser.
