Authorities are investigating an explosion in an SUV in Queens on Friday as an accident.

An unoccupied vehicle parked on 133rd Street with a propane tank in the trunk exploded, according to fire officials and a law enforcement source. No injuries were reported.

According to police sources, the owner of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with authorities. Sources say the man may have been using the vehicle for some sort of plumbing job.

Four other vehicles were also damaged in the explosion, which shattered the windows of half a dozen nearby houses.

NBC New York’s Gaby Acevedo reports.

Firefighters, Emergency Service Unit personnel and aviation support responded. The Bomb Squad responded as a precaution, as well as the building department and fire chief.

Video posted to the Citizen app showed intense emergency response as bystanders stood behind caution tape to monitor the scene. The exploded minibus became completely unusable.

Authorities say no criminal activity is suspected at this time.
