Man identified in deadly Glen Burnie road rage, police release additional information

A man is dead after a road rage shooting in Glen Burnie Thursday night, authorities said.

Police said at approximately 8:20 p.m., Nov. 7, officers responded to the area of ​​East Furnace Branch Road and Margate Drive in Glen Burnie for a report of a shooting.

Police said when they arrived at the scene, they found a man with a gunshot wound on the side of the road.

Scott David Guhse, 51, of Glen Burnie, was pronounced dead at the scene by fire personnel.

Also at the scene was a 22-year-old man who reported being the victim of an assault and was also the alleged shooter in the incident, police said.

According to authorities, preliminary information in the investigation indicates that the 22-year-old man was riding his motorcycle in the area of ​​Route 10 and Furnace Branch Road when he noticed another vehicle following him and driving erratically.

Police said the driver of the other vehicle pulled up next to him and yelled at him.

The other vehicle then nearly collided with the motorcycle, causing it to veer off the road.

Both vehicles stopped on East Bakery Branch Road and the driver of the other vehicle reportedly charged towards the 22-year-old, brandishing a hammer.

That’s when the 22-year-old man pulled out a gun and shot the driver, authorities said.

Police said the 22-year-old had a permit to carry a concealed handgun in Maryland.
