Best College Football Bets for Week 11’s Colorado vs. Texas Tech Game

Best College Football Bets for Week 11’s Colorado vs. Texas Tech Game

Colorado suddenly resumes Big 12 play for the league title after BYE week.

Thanks to Week 11 opponent Texas Tech, the Buffaloes sit in second place in the Big 12 after the Red Raiders’ win against Iowa State in Ames last weekend. With an over/under in the 60s, there are sure to be fireworks on both sides of the ball; So can we count on superstars like Travis Hunter and Tahj Brooks to emerge?

Find out how I’m betting on player props for this important matchup on Saturday’s Week 11 card.

Travis Hunter 97.5+ Receiving Area

In the midst of the Heisman Trophy campaign, Hunter is in prime position to have a monster game against Texas Tech’s porous secondary.

The Red Raiders rank in the bottom 10 nationally in both coverage and tackle grade, according to Pro Football Focus.

This should be a field day for Hunter and friends. To pad the Red Raiders’ stat line against bottom 30 EPA/Pass teams. Moreover, the team should be blown out as Texas Tech has a solid defensive line that ranks in the top 50 in bench yards.

In an expected shootout, Hunter should enjoy a poor secondary and go over 100 yards for the second straight game.

Tahj Brooks 124.5+ Rushing Yards

Brooks was as consistent as he’s ever been in college football.

The running back has already rushed for over 1,000 yards this season and has surpassed the century mark in every game this season. The Red Raiders’ offense was up and down, but Brooks was a real businessman.

The senior has made at least 21 field goals in all but one game this season and has surpassed that number in four games.

Texas Tech plays at a fast pace and is always looking for explosive plays. While the Colorado defense has improved this season, I believe the team will have a hard time containing Brooks, who can easily move to the second level against a middling Buffaloes rushing defense.

Colorado has been able to put pressure and get into the backfield this season, but its defensive line is just above the national average in line yards and ranks 100th in explosive rushing defense. If Brooks can gain some momentum downhill, I expect these carries to turn into 10-yard gains instead of four.

Based on the volume and expected back-and-forth nature of this game, I like Texas Tech to feast on Brooks at the back down the field.
