Community supporting South Point teachers after stabbing

SOUTH POINT, OHIO (WSAZ) – Following yesterday’s incident at South Point Elementary School, the South Point community is coming together to support staff during this difficult time.

Harlee Hall, co-owner of GR8 Pies, says: “I know their mind is probably feeling stressed and anxious. There’s free chicken and pie; it’s not going to solve the problem, but it might make it a little better.”

GR8 Pies and Guthrie’s of South Point have decided to provide free meals to South Point School District staff.

Guthrie’s owner Sam Gue says he met with his co-owner and general manager. Together they revealed what they could do for society.

“And after having a rough day yesterday, we thought about what we could do to shed some light,” Gue says.

Gue hugged the teachers and personally distributed the meals.

Staff say it’s great to see what the community can do.

“It was amazing to see everyone come together to see what our community can do in this current time of need,” says GR8 Pies employee Aleeia Kleinman.

“I think it’s important to take care of your neighbors when times like these happen in your community,” Hall says.

In times like these, it’s important to trust your community members, and that’s what South Point is doing today.
