British supermodel Georgina Cooper passed away at the age of 46

British supermodel Georgina Cooper, known for her iconic gap-toothed Cool Britannia look, has died unexpectedly at the age of 46, according to friends and multiple reports.

According to Daily MailCooper was hospitalized after falling ill while holidaying on the Greek island of Kos with her husband Nigel for several months.

They were reportedly staying at the Marianna Hotel when they fell ill and were hospitalized on October 21.

After his condition was assessed, the hospital reportedly moved him to a better-equipped location on the island of Crete. He was reportedly treated for five days before he died.

Meanwhile, his former manager Dean Goodman told the Mail that he had “been unwell during Covid, had some health problems and been in and out of hospital.”

She confirmed that she “has plans for the future” and is “looking forward to her life” with her new husband.

A source on the island told the Mail that Cooper had been holidaying there for more than 20 years, going there for his honeymoon in July and October.

“This happened so suddenly and was a shock to all of us,” they added.

“He was talking about coming back in May because he wanted to find a place to live and maybe start a business. So sad.”

Cooper’s close friend and fellow model Jade Parfitt, 46, told the outlet that her “friends and family are absolutely devastated.”

“Georgina was a ray of light, a very popular model who was super fun, always smiling and mischievous at her best,” he added.

“We all wanted to hang out with George backstage. Their success in the industry has been enormous.”

Cooper became one of the biggest faces of the 1990s and easily one of the most recognizable due to the gap between her two front teeth. Some of her magazine covers included US Vogue and Face.

Cooper retired from the modeling industry when she gave birth to her son, Sonny, because “she couldn’t bear to leave him alone,” she told Cultural Omnivore.

“I tried to continue modeling but it broke my heart having to leave it for work,” she explained.

“I focused on modeling assignments in London, but my life was at a crossroads and I decided Sonny would come first.”

He most recently worked in the hospitality industry.

“You were an incredibly kind and funny person, Georgina,” said Cool Britannia-era model Erin O’Connor. he wrote on Instagram.

“I/we all admired and loved you so much for the warmth, generosity, and gentle mischief you brought to the world.”

He added: “It’s been so many years since we (our little band of britannia from the 90s) hung out together during the crazy merry-go-round known as ‘show season’ – but you’ve ALWAYS stuck by me because I keep it real and you’re proud of who you are.”
