10 people stabbed in Seattle’s Chinatown-International District

One investigation Investigation continues after five people were stabbed Seattle’s Chinatown-International District Friday afternoon. Authorities are calling this a mass casualty incident.

Seattle Police arrested a man in his 30s to 40s in connection with five stabbings. He is also suspected in several other similar stabbings that occurred in the area on Thursday.

Authorities say the incident occurred at 2 p.m. on 10th Ave., about two blocks south of Bailey Gatzert Elementary School. S and S Jackson St. He said it happened near the corner.

Four people reportedly arrived at Harborview Medical Center with stab wounds. All are listed in critical condition. The fifth stabbing victim was treated at the scene and released.

According to Seattle Police, officers located the suspect after witnesses described him and arrested him without incident. While a gun was seized in the area, it was stated that a knife was still stuck in one of the victims.

Detectives continue their efforts to identify the suspect. He will be taken to the King County Jail for investigation of the assault.

The circumstances leading up to the stabbings are unknown at this time.

Seattle Police are determining whether the suspect was involved in five other stabbings in the same neighborhood in the last 36 hours:

Woman stabbed 8 times

Around 1:30 a.m. Thursday, officers responded to a stabbing near 12th Avenue S and S King St.

When they came they found one 52 year old woman He was stabbed eight times. He was taken to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition.

No suspects were found.

Stabbing man taken to hospital

On Thursday around 12:15 p.m., officers responded to the area of ​​8th Avenue South and South Jackson Street for a report of a stabbing.

Police found a 32-year-old man with multiple stab wounds. The man was treated at the scene and later taken to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition.

The suspect is described as a black male wearing a checkered hoodie who was last seen driving eastbound on S King Street. Police could not find the suspect after a search.

It is unknown what led to the stabbing.

Suspect taken into custody after stabbing

A 37-year-old man was stabbed multiple times in the back near 8th Avenue South and South Jackson Street around 8 p.m. Thursday evening.

He was taken to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition.

Police detained a 34-year-old man near an abandoned building at 10th Avenue and Jackson Avenue. SPD said the suspect had a knife in his hand and it was seized as evidence.

The suspect also had a $7,075 felony warrant for possession of a stolen vehicle, according to investigators. He was booked into the King County Jail on the warrant.

The suspect’s involvement in the stabbing incident is being investigated.

One person was injured in the robbery attempt

Officers responded to a reported assault under the I-5 freeway overpass near South King Street and 8th Avenue South at 8:39 p.m. Thursday.

A 60-year-old man was in his vehicle when another man forced open the driver’s door and tried to stab him in the chest, SPD reported.

Police said the victim blocked the attack but his hand was cut. He was taken to Harborview for further medical care.

The victim’s cell phone was stolen during the robbery. Despite searches with K9 and helicopter, the suspect could not be located.

Man stabbed in the neck

Around 1 a.m. Friday, officers received reports of an assault near 12th Avenue South and South Jackson Street.

A person injured in the neck was found bleeding heavily. He was assisted at the scene and transported to Harborview in serious condition.

Police followed a trail of blood to a doorway northwest of where the victim was found, but the suspect was not located.
