Hyde Park man arrested for shoplifting Johnson store

JOHNSON — A break-in at the Get Yours store in Johnson on Nov. 2 led to the arrest of a Hyde Park man, according to the Lamoille County Sheriff’s Department.

Authorities received a call reporting that the store’s front door, valued at over $2,000, had been damaged in a burglary.

The investigation, which started in a short time, resulted in the arrest of 44-year-old Kory Rooney.

Rooney will face charges of Burglary and Possession of Burglary tools.

He was committed to Northeast Correctional Institution in lieu of $1,500 bail.

Following his arrest, Rooney appeared in Lamoille District Court at 12:30 a.m. on November 7.

The sheriff’s department has not released further details about the items stolen or the extent of damage to the property.
