A Cabell County man is facing felony child pornography charges, court records say

A Cabell County man was arrested on a felony charge of possession of child pornography after authorities discovered more than 50 sexually explicit images on his phone, according to court records.

According to the criminal complaint filed against Cabell, David Reid Barbour II, 41, was charged with distributing and displaying material depicting minors in explicit conduct after police responded to the property at 912 West 2nd Street in Huntington on Aug. 16 at approximately 11 p.m. District Criminal Court of Peace.

After responding to the disturbance, police discovered inappropriate Facebook messages and seized Barbour’s phone as evidence, the complaint said.

The Huntington Police Department was later able to obtain two search warrants on Barbour, and on September 30, the department’s Digital Forensics Unit recovered a sexually explicit photo from Barbour’s phone.

Authorities later obtained another arrest warrant and discovered more than 50 photos of minors engaging in sexually explicit content on Barbour’s phone.

Barbour was later taken into custody and is being held in the Western Regional Jail on a $75,000 cash-only bond while awaiting trial.
