Man pleads guilty to child pornography charge, other charges dismissed

RAPID CITY, SD (KOTA) – Taylor Bloomgren, 23, appeared in federal court Friday on charges of sexual exploitation of a minor and possession of child pornography.

Bloomgren reached a plea deal, pleading guilty to receiving child pornography and having other charges against him dismissed.

In factual testimony in the case, Bloomgren admits to having phone sex and exchanging nude photos and videos with a girl who was under the age of twelve when he began communicating with her.

It took place between 2021 and 2023.

With the plea agreement, he faces a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in prison, a maximum of 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

The date of the sentencing hearing has not yet been set.
