Man dead after possible stabbing in Brampton

A man is dead following a possible stabbing in Brampton on Saturday.

Peel Regional Police said the incident happened near Chadwick Street and Lockwood Road, south of Queen Street West and east of Chinguacsy Road.

Police said they were called to the scene around 3 p.m.

Peel paramedics initially told CTV News Toronto they were at the scene and performed life-saving measures on a man in his 30s. They said they were treating a victim who had likely been stabbed and suffered a head injury.

Medical teams later determined that the injured person died at the scene.

Meanwhile, police are asking people to avoid the area.

The investigation is active and ongoing and there is a heavy police presence in the area.

No details on the suspects are available at this time.
